About
The HPRA was founded in 1981 by a group of retirees that established their constitution and By-Laws in 1982. Over the years the association’s size and activities have grown significantly, but its goals and objectives have remained constant.
Currently we have 900 + members and 100 +
surviving spouses.
Objectives
To unite fraternally, and
To promote the mutual interests of it’s members,
and;
To maintain a spirit of co-operation with the
Hamilton Police Association and the Hamilton Police
Service.
To affiliate with other professional law enforcement
associations and organizations.
To raise money for donations to charity and to
participate as volunteers in fundraising events
organized by recognized charitable organizations.
Membership
Active membership is open to all retired members of the Hamilton Police Service and employees of the Hamilton Police Association.
A letter of invitation to join the HPRA will be sent when our Membership Chairperson is notified of your retirement.
We also allow past members having served on the Hamilton Police Service a minimum of 10 years to apply for Associate membership.
Surviving Spouses
We welcome the surviving spouse of both retired and active service members to be members of our association.
Currently we have the privilege of having two widows of past members working with our Board Of Directors.
