Del Conte, Michel

It is with a heavy heart that the Del Conte Family announces the peaceful passing of Michel at Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas, after a short battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma).  At her passing, Michel was surrounded by her loving husband Marco of 37 years, daughter and best friend Rebecca, son Marcus and dog Chace.

Preceeded by her parents Thomas and Lillian Monks, niece Danielle Davis and father in-law Antonio Del Conte.  Left to morn Michel are her loving sisters, Lisa Monks and Tammy Davis (husband Dan Davis, nephew Chad and niece Samantha).  Mother in-law Velia Del Conte, sisters in-law Josie Plumb (husband Greg Plumb, niece Maddison, nephew Jake), Mary Derakhshani (husband Parvis Derakhshani, nieces Veronica and Emma) and Denise Del Conte (husband Bobak Derakhshani, nephew Eric) and Rebecca’s partner (Kamran Siddiqui).  Michel will also be missed by her many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

In 1983, Michel enrolled in the Photography Program at  Sheridan College in Oakville.  There, she met Marco, started a relationship and they were married on October 25th, 1986.  She worked as a photographer and then moved to banking with Canada Trust as a financial advisor.  After the birth of her two children, Michel left work to devote her life to creating a loving home for her family. Michel was an unwavering supportive wife and mother who adored her children and dog. Michel was deeply loved by her family and will be dearly missed.

The Del Conte Family would like to thank the many wonderful doctors and nurses at SJH and HGH, and RNs and PSWs who cared for Michel at home.  A special thanks to Dr Alsunbul, Dr Profetto, Dr Doyle, RN Kristen, and Margaret’s Place Hospice, Dawn and Jen, RNs, PSWs, and volunteers for the care and compassion they provided Michel and Family

Michel will be remembered as an extremely loyal, caring and empathetic woman, always putting the needs of others before her own.  As per Michel’s wishes, she will be cremated with no funeral or visitation.  Instead, a private Celebration of Life will take place with invited family and dear friends.  Announcements will be made once the arrangements have been finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas would be appreciated by the Del Conte Family.
